Taiwan chip-resistor makers reportedly land orders from Rohm

   Date:2011/11/04

Chip-resistor makers Ralec Electronic and Ta-I Technology have recently grabbed contract orders from Rohm, which saw production at its factory in Thailand disrupted by flooding, industry sources have revealed.

In response, Ralec said orders placed by Rohm have filled up its capacity in Taiwan and China. Ralec expects revenues for November and December to return to the high levels seen earlier in 2011.

Ta-I said it did discuss OEM orders with Rohm, but no further progress has been made.

Ta-I gave a conservative revenue outlook. The company expects its October revenues to decrease slightly on month, and sales performance for the upcoming two months will remain less optimistic.

Both Ralec and Ta-I did not make any comments regarding Rohm's manufacturing suspension caused by Thailand's floods.
