   Date:2011/11/10

Lite-On has reported October revenues of NT$10.149 (US$337 million), flat compared to September. Accumulated revenues from January-October reached NT$99.96 billion. Lite-On indicated that growth has been most apparent in the optical business unit. Additionally, power supplies and camera modules have been showing healthy growth.

Market share of camera modules for PC and smartphones has been increasing steadily, according to Lite-On. The growth helped the firm to report record high revenues for the fourth consecutive month.

China recently announced plans to phase out incandescent lamps which has been soon as beneficial to LED lighting firms. According to KC Terng, CEO of Lite-On, China's market has its own characteristics. To penetrate the market effectively needs a lot of work, said Terng. Lite-On set up an operating center in Changzhou, Jiangsu province in 2009 to get ahead in gaining market share. Cooperation with Epistar will also help the firm to provide a complete LED lighting solution in the future to capture market share in China, added Terng.
