A trade mission consisting of Taiwan-based makers of flat panels and flat panel components will leave for China on November 18 aiming to purchase optical films, IC parts, and parts and components for touch panels. Paul Peng, executive vice president and president of display business unit of AU Optronics (AUO) will lead the mission.
Members of the trade mission also include representatives from Chimei Innolux (CMI), Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), HannStar Display, Wintek, E Ink Holdings, G-Tech Optoelectronics and Gamma Optical.
The trade mission will visit the 2011 China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) currently being held in Shenzhen, and members of the trade mission will focus on the procurement of parts and components for entry-level smartphones, tablet PCs and other display devices, according to sources on the mission.
The Taiwan Display Union Association (TDUA), in which Peng also serves as chairman, will also a sign cooperation MOU with the Shenzhen Flat Panel Display Industry Association (SDIA) for the promotion of brand image, industry safety and integration of supply chains between the two sides.
