Survey: Quarter of Bank Customers in China Misled

A quarter of Chinese bank customers feel they were misled led this year, according to a report by research provider Bankrate.

Being misled, excess fees and safety problems surrounding the sales process were some of the main points of discontent raised by bank customers in Bankrate’s survey. The figure was down 6.78% from a year earlier, although the overall rating of banks was far from satisfactory.

Bank of Communications Co. Ltd. (601326.SH, 3328.HK) ranked highest in the integrated user satisfaction, gaining 72.66 points, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Co. Ltd. (601398.SH, 1398.HK) and China Construction Bank Co. Ltd. (0939.HK) ranking second and third, respectively.
