Handset keypad and metal chassis maker Silitech Technology expects sales of aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis to account for 10-15% of its total revenues in the fourth quarter of 2011 compared to 9% for the first three quarters of the year.
Shipments of aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis for Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S II smartphones and Nokia's newly released Windows Mango phones have been a growth driver for Silitech in the second half of 2011, industry sources pointed out.
While shipments of metal chassis to Samsung and Nokia are expected to remain robust in the first half of 2012, Silitech also aims to expand its sales into the tablet PC segment in the coming year, the sources noted.
