King Core Electronics, a Taiwan-based maker of passive components, holds a pessimistic outlook on its business operation for the fourth quarter of 2011, with the corresponding revenues expected to decrease by more than 10% on quarter, according to the company.

King Core has seen its utilization rate fall to 50-60% and visibility of orders shortened to two weeks to one month, the company indicated. Of its revenues, 35% comes from ferrite cores, 30-35% from precision coils and 25% from chip inductors currently, with these components mainly used in notebook and tablet PCs and networking/communication devices, King Core pointed out.

King Core has been developing inductors with higher frequencies and rated electric current to meet requirements from multi-function slim electronic devices in 2012, the company indicated.

King Core has 60-70% of revenues coming from clients in Taiwan and 5-10% from those in China and has set up a factory in Suzhou, eastern China, which accounts for 15% of its total production capacity, the company pointed out.
