Pursuant to notices released by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on 1 December 2011, certain upward adjustments have been made to the on-grid power tariffs for coal-fired generating units in the regions where China Shenhua Energy (601088.SH 01088.HK) operates its principal power business, the company announced. The increases ranged from RMB17/MWh to RMB30.2/MWh.
In addition, the generating units which have installed and operated denitrification facilities, upon the examination and approval by the relevant competent authorities of environmental protection and price supervision, could enjoy a denitrification price, which is RMB8/MWh under a temporary power tariff standard.
Pursuant to the notices, the weighted average on-grid power tariffs (including value-added tax) of the equity power output dispatch for the first 10 months 2011 of the company's power plants will increase by approximately RMB25.6/MWh after the adjustment. The above adjustments have been implemented since 1 December 2011.
