BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- China's stocks closed lower at midday Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.45 percent to finish the morning session at 2,304.8.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.59 percent to end at 9,423.89 at midday.
