HONG KONG, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's share prices closed higher Wednesday with the weighted index up 26.26 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 6,922.57, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

The local bourse fluctuated between 6,926.09 and 6860.39 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 61.21 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.02 billion U.S. dollars).
