China 2012 Ffiscal & Mmonetary Ppolicies

   Date:2011/12/14

Economists say that next year's policies will be slightly more relaxed than this year's prudent ones - moving towards a more neutral stance. Money supply is expected to return to normal to provide enough liquidity and the nation’s economic structure will continue to reform.

Ba Shusong, finance department director of Development Research Center, State Council, said: "The basis of the policies will be the same, but the focus might shift slightly. For example, in 2011, we focused on maintaining stable growth and controlling inflation. In 2012, it might be more focused on promoting structural reform, while continuing to maintain stable economic growth. Our fiscal condition is healthy this year, which will give enough liquidity to support future economic reform. "
