BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks fell for a sixth consecutive trading day on Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropping by 2.14 percent, or 47.63 points, to close at 2,180.9.
The Shenzhen Component Index slid 2.44 percent, or 221.94 points to finish at 8,871.09.

China to maintain prudent monetary policy next year: central economic work conference
BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- China will maintain its prudent monetary policy and proactive fiscal policy in 2012, according to the annual central economic work conference that closed on Wednesday.
