BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's stocks closed slightly higher at midday Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.01 percent to finish the morning session at 2,181.22.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.27 percent, to end at 8,894.91 at midday.
