Delta to set up power supply plant for industrial automation equipment, electric cars

   Date:2011/12/26

Taiwan-based Delta Electronics plans to set up a new plant as well as an R&D center for the development of power supply devices for industrial automation equipment and electric cars, according Delta CEO Yancey Hai.

As for solar products, Hai noted that the main markets are still Europe and the US. But Europe has been focusing on getting out of the debt crisis which has frozen demand in 2011, while the markets in North America, Japan and China are growing and showing good prospects.

Hai further noted that price drops of solar products can actually be beneficial to the solar market because solar only accounts for less than 1% in the market of electricity generation. The low price can help the market to increase market share effectively.

In addition, Hai predicts that the LED market will see more new applications in 2012.
