Zenitron, WPG Holdings, WT Microelectronics and Edom Technology, four Taiwan-based IC distributors, will focus their 2012 business operation on the China smartphone market, according to industry sources in Taiwan.

Zenitron will look to growing demand for embedded memory and touch ICs used in smartphones, tablet PCs and e-book readers in the China market. Zenitron also markets driver ICs used in LED lighting, CCFL inverters and PV (photovoltaic) inverters. In addition, the company will begin to sell products used for wireless electricity charge in 2012.

Apart from the China market, WPG has obtained sales agent right for Intel chips in India and Indonesia markets.

Edom does not plan to expand its distribution network in China for the time being but has been tapping the India market.
