Asustek Computer expects its shipments of LCD monitors in the Taiwan market to reach 460,000-500,000 units in 2012, including models with touch features to be rolled out in the third quarter of the year, according to the company.

Models with IPS panels will account for 10% of Asustek's total monitor shipments in the local market in 2012, while monitors with display sizes of up to 23-inch and above will make up 23-25% of annual shipments, the company noted.

Asustek shipped 450,000 LCD monitors in the local market in 2011, almost flat from a year earlier. However, the company still ranked the number one monitor vendor in the year, according to market data.

Overall monitor shipments in the Taiwan market are expected to grow only 1% on year in 2012, according to an industry estimate.
