Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) approved 159 foreign direct investment projects (except from China) with a total value of US$237.5 million in January 2012, respectively decreasing by 9.14% and by 1.45% on year, according to MOEA statistics.
In the same period, MOEA approved 27 outward direct investment projects (except in China) proposed by Taiwan-based companies or individuals with a total value of US$504.7 million, respectively rising by 125% and by 219% on year.
Also in January 2012, MOEA approved 13 investment projects proposed by China-based companies with a total value of US$96.5 million. On the other hand, there were 36 approved projects of direct investment in China proposed by Taiwan-based companies or individuals with a total amount of US$779.8 million, decreasing by 52% and increasing by 2.97% respectively on year.
