China-based flat panel maker BOE Technology has strengthened its cooperation with OEM TV maker TPV Technology and will receive more panel orders from TPV in 2012, according to industry sources.

BOE has a 4.5G plant in Chengdu, a 6G line in Hefei, and 5G and 8.5G lines in Beijing, and is planning to build a 5.5G plant for the production of AMOLED panels in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

Panel production of BOE's 6G line in Hefei and the 8.5G line in Beijing will reach full capacity at 90,000 units each in the second quarter of 2012, pushing the company's annual shipments to 11 million units for the year, the sources revealed.

BOE's 8.5G line currently focuses on the production of 32-inch panels, but will expand panel cutting to including 36.5- 46- and 55-inch later, the sources indicated.

With TPV being the world's largest OEM LCD TV maker as well as a partner of Philips, the strengthening cooperation between BOE and TPV is expected to have a strong impact on Taiwan panel makers, the sources commented.
