Jiangsu Kunshan Technology and Economic Development Zone (TEDZ) plans to build an optical-electronics industrial park on the almost completed electronic and information industry base. Already Longteng Optical-Electronics and IC Spectrum are established at the global LCD base.

Longteng Optical-Electronics has invested US$900 million where it has its third 5th generation TFT-LCD production line. IC Spectrum, which only moved to the areas this year, primarily produces eight-inch wafers for TFT panels, and is an auxiliary enterprise of Longteng Optical-electronics.

After three to five years of work, Jiangsu Kunshan TEDZ will form the complete TFT-LC industry link and the total investment will come to US$10 billion.
