BANK of East Asia, the third-biggest Hong Kong-based lender by market capitalization, yesterday said it has got approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to open its first branch in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province.

The bank said it will be the 25th branch on China's mainland after the one in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province.
