Yesterday in a press conference held by China's State Council Information Office regarding the ongoing trademark dispute between Apple and Shenzhen-based display device manufacturer Proview Technology, vice minister of China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) Fu Shuangjian declared that in accordance with China's trademark laws, Proview is currently still the rightful owner of the iPad trademark. The SAIC will take appropriate action in handling the status of iPads in China upon the court's final judgment of the case.
