InterContinental Hotels Group is making further inroads into the hotel business in China, planning to launch seven new hotels on the Chinese mainland over the next two years. 

The group's hotel in Shenzhen, opening tomorrow, will be the first of the seven.  "I am proud that InterContinental Shenzhen is the first to open,” says Brian Connelly, general manager of InterContinental Shenzhen, which is owned by the Overseas Chinese Town group.
