   Date:2012/05/17

The Tsinghua University School of Journalism and Communication, Beijing-based digital video and IPTV system provider Sumavision (300079.SZ), and Beijing-based smart phone application developer for social TV services Beijing Tongxiang Weishi Technology recently announced their cooperation in establishing the "Tsinghua Digital Media Convergence Laboratory." The laboratory will establish a technical platform devoted to realizing content-sharing across mobile terminals, internet networks, TV's, tablets, and other media, in an effort to integrate data collection, storage, distribution, and management, as well as all interactive user functions.

The lab's first project will be the launch of "TV Fan," a social TV application for smartphones which will rely on cross-channel communications service operators and cross-network operating systems, thereby enabling users to browse information related to a vast array of television programs and facilitating sharing between users and interactivity between users and the TV programs themselves.
