By the end of this year, BMW will have established 500 instant charging stations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. According to an initial plan of the automaker, BMW charging stations will have doubled in China to more than 1,000 units by the end of next year covering more cities.

The typical worry of EV buyers is the range anxiety, which is the charging inconvenience as charging stations are not as eye-catching as gas stations. They worried about where exactly their EV can be charged to fulfill the trip. Now BMW is sparing no effort in removing that kind of anxiety for future and present BMW EV buyers.

BMW announced the official implementation of “Charge Now”plan in September 7, which grant drivers of BMW and MINI EV models find the nearest charging station through BMW interconnected vehicle driving system or special APP and websites of “Charge Now”.

Currently, there are twenty four cities in America, German and England have enjoyed the “Charge Now” project, according to the statement of Bjorn Goerke, BMW's president and CEO for Greater China Region. And the total number of BMW charging stations all over the world has aggregated to 33,000 units now.

The grand automobile manufactures is consolidating more strength on alternative fueled vehicle market. Up till now, BMW has launched in China a relatively large number of alternative fueled vehicles including BMW i3 EV and two plug-in hybrid models of i8 and X540e. In addition, 530Le plug-in has realized domestic production in China.
