According to the National Holiday Office projections, over 4 million persons visited the 120 leading sightseeing destinations across the country on the first day of Golden Week Holidays.

Hotel reservation rates in many destinations have exceeded 90 percent, while in certain regions like Ha'erbin and Nanchang, the number of visitors even tripled compared to the same period of last year. Both heading out to the suburbs and driving to a holiday destination have emerged as new favorites for tourists.

At the same time, many destinations are also taking measures to reduce accidents and increase convenience, handing out guidelines for visitors. It's estimated that more visitors will be seen out and about on the second day of the Golden Week with greater numbers of travellers making long-distance trips.
