KEMIRA Oyj, the world's biggest supplier of pulp and paper chemicals, will open a factory in Yixing in Jiangsu Province to make calcium propionate, a salt used as a preservative in the food and animal-feed industries.

Production will begin by the end of 2008, the Helsinki-based firm said in a newswire statement yesterday.
