CordLife announced that its Hong Kong subsidiary has successfully achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification. The certification was awarded by SGS Hong Kong, in accordance with the standards as set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The certificate took effect from August 1, 2007, and is valid for three years.

CordLife Hong Kong was audited for its adherence to quality standards according to the 2000 version of ISO 9001, which requires the integration of quality and process management at all levels.

In order to achieve this certification, a facility must continually monitor its processes to ensure quality; take measures to prevent or correct faulty products; regularly review its processes and monitoring to ensure effectiveness, and have means to facilitate continual improvement. At the end of three years, CordLife Hong Kong must again apply for certification to maintain its ISO 9001:2000 status.

Mr Steven Fang, Group CEO, CordLife said, "Alongside with Singapore's AABB accreditation and TGA licence for its Australian entity, the achievement of ISO certification for Hong Kong is a validation of our commitment to quality. In the months and years ahead, CordLife will continually measure itself against the best international standards, to deliver the best possible cord blood banking solutions to our customers in all the markets in which we operate."
