LORD Corp started construction of a 120-million yuan (US$15.8 million) project in Shanghai yesterday to produce adhesive and other materials. The factory, located in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, will produce 5,000 tons of adhesives, 1,600 tons of coatings and 3,000 tons of encapsulating materials per year.

These materials will be used in industries like automobile, road construction, machinery, defense and aerospace. The project will start operation in September next year, the chemical park authority said in a statement.
