China is witnessing a travel peak during its National Day holiday, now that Golden Week tourism has officially begun.
According to the aviation authority, there were nearly 47-hundred flights running on Sunday, for a total of more than 700-thousand seats. Beijing's Capital International Airport welcomed nearly 180-thousand passengers on Sunday, many of whom missed their flights due to traffic. The airport has suggested that passengers try to arrive at the airport earlier than they usually do.
Meanwhile, many outbound tour packages have sold out. And it's estimated that sightseeing spots in nearby cities will be hot destinations during the seven-day holiday.
