Recently, along with the launch of new public transport service mode in Macao, 245 units Yutong city buses were officially put into operation in Macao public transport network. These buses will run on the 26 city bus routes in Macao, making the market share of Yutong buses in Macao’s public transport sector reach 40 percent.

As for the Macao public transport project, it is the first time for Yutong to cooperate with Veolia Transport, the world-renowned public transport operator. All city buses provided by Yutong this time are right-hand drive and equipped with GPS satellite navigation system, automatic phonetic stop announcement system, CAN bus instruments and so on.

Meanwhile, based on the actual urban situation in Macao, these buses own some special designs, like get-off reminding signals in driver and passenger areas, get-off button on handrail and side wall beside the seats, four LED destination screens inside and outside the bus showing the bus speed and station name, first-aid kit, luggage rack, etc. In addition, the information of vehicle position, speed, vehicle status and so on can be wirelessly transmitted to the vehicle control center.

From the contract negotiation to the ultimate delivery of all 245 buses to the client, it lasted about six months from this January to July. The related departments of Yutong Company collaborated with each other under the spirit of teamwork, ensuring the smooth proceeding of different procedures, like prototype production, homologation, mass production, vehicle delivery, acceptance check of the client, etc. At the moment, the project has entered the market service phase, the service work is being carried out in order.

Each year, there are 25 million tourists visiting Macao. The urban public transport mainly relies on city buses. The operation of this batch of Yutong buses will provide a strong guarantee for the improvement of the urban transport condition in Macao.
