Cheung Kong can use more room at the show flats for its Tseung Kwan O project La Splendeur.
More than 10,000 potential buyers paid a visit yesterday, with some queueing for more than two hours.
Agents said the crowded situation even forced some mainlanders, with their time limited in Hong Kong, to go shopping instead in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The project has 1,168 flats, with sales starting on Friday.
Visitors got a welcome surprise: the flats, sized between 805 and 1,330 square feet, have been priced HK$5,941 psf - much lower than the HK$6,800 psf the developer earlier hinted at.
Cheung Kong also had another surprise for the other people at the show flats - mooncakes for the agents.
