October 19 -- China recorded a 12.2 percent year-on-year rise in power consumption to 391.5 tWh in September, and power consumption during the first three quarters increased 12 percent to 3,515.7 tWh, according to the National Energy Administration.
Of the total, the primary industry recorded a 4.5 percent year-on-year rise in power consumption to 79.5 tWh, the secondary industry posted a 12.1 percent increase in power consumption to 2,623.5 tWh, while the tertiary industry recorded power consumption of 384.4 tWh, up 14 percent.
Residential power consumption increased 10.6 percent year-on-year to 428.2 tWh.
The average utilization hours of power generation plants nationwide hit 3,603 hours during the first three quarters, an increase of 78 hours year-on-year.
The average utilization hours of hydropower generation units dropped 301 hours year-on-year to 2,388 hours, while that of thermal power generation units increased 193 hours year-on-year to 3,986 hours.
Investment in power generation facilities totaled 242.8 billion yuan during the first three quarters, of which 63.5 billion yuan were invested in hydropower, 74.2 billion yuan on thermal power, 53.2 billion yuan on nuclear power, and 47.7 billion yuan on wind power.
Shares of Datang International Power Generation were up 0.45 percent to trade at 4.46 yuan per share at 9:38 today.
