Compal Communications has reported net losses of NT$199 million (US$6.6 million), or NT$0.33 per share, for the third quarter of 2011. For the January-September period, net losses amounted to NT$475 million or NT$0.79 per share, according to a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

For the first three quarters of 2011, revenues declined 28.1% to NT$7.35 billion, according to company data.

Shipments of handsets totaled 470,000 units in the third quarter, bringing total shipments to 2.1 million units for the first three quarters, according to a Chinese-language Chinatimes.com report.
