November 4 -- China Telecom (0728.HK) announced that general manager Wang Xiaochu was appointed as the company's chairman and party secretary, reports yicai.com.

Yang Jie, former vice general manager in charge of network construction and information technology, was promoted to the post of general manager.

Following the reshuffle, Wang will still be in charge of China Telecom's overall business, while Yang will run the operations.
