Tmall.com announced that it will launch “Five Times Compensation for One Fake Product” policy on January 1, 2012 and will offer a new identification procedure for fake products, in which Taobao.com and Tmall.com will buy products that are suspected of intellectual property infringement on the merchant’s part and the products will be provided to the merchant and a third-party institution for identification, according to reports on December 11.

 

Tmall.com announced today that it will strengthen its efforts in fighting against fake products. From January 1, 2012, merchants that are found selling faking products will be shut down immediately and their security deposits will not be returned. In addition, consumers can get five times the value of the product as compensation.
