Air China (SHA:601111, HKG:0753) announced that Kong Dong has rendered his resignations from his positions as chairman and a non-executive director of the company due to retirement effective upon the approval by the shareholders of the company of the appointment of a new director. With effect from the resignation of Kong, the company shall convene a board meeting as soon as practicable for the purpose of filling the vacancy of its chairman.

The board also said that Wang Changshun has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company subject to the approval of the shareholders.
