   Date:2012-02-21

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 20) - British luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin saw its Chinese sales grow enormously in 2011. In an announcement made last week, Marcel Fabris, marketing and communications manager for the Asia-Pacific region, confirmed that the manufacturer sold a total of 190 vehicles in China last year, Beijing News reported today. The figure is 72.7 percent than the amount sold in 2010.

With the manufacturer's global sales having dropped from 4,250 vehicles in 2010 to 4,200 in 2011, the growing importance of the Chinese market becomes all the more clearer. According to Matthew Bennett, director for the Asia-Pacific region, Aston Martin's sales target for 2012 is set at an ambitious 500 vehicles.

Currently, Europe constitutes for 55 percent to 60 percent of Aston Martin's sales, while the US accounts for 30 percent. The remaining ten to 15 percent of the manufacturer's sales come from the Asia-Pacific region.
