China sticks to support for economy

   Date:2012-02-21

China will stick to a proactive fiscal policy, and prudent monetary policy, throughout 2012. That's according to a statement released after a meeting of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee.

It also notes China would strike a balance between supporting growth, adjusting economic structures and managing inflationary expectations. Efforts to boost domestic consumption were noted. The meeting discussed a draft report to be submitted to the country's top legislature's annual meeting, scheduled for next month. Today's statement is largely in line with the policy stance taken by the Chinese government, at the end of last year.
