Huaneng Power International, Inc. (NYSE: HNP; HKEx:902; SSE:600011), a listed power producer in China, announced that Huaneng Yunnan Chuxiong Natural Gas Co-generation New Construction Project (the "Project") (which is wholly owned by the Company) was recently approved by the Development and Reform Commission of the Yunnan Province. The Project will build 2 x 300 MW class combined cycle gas turbine cogeneration units. The total investment amount of the Project is estimated to be approximately RMB2.656 billion, of which 20% will be project capital to be funded by the Company. The remaining investment is to be funded by bank loans. Huaneng Power Internation is one of China's large listed power producers with controlled generation capacity of 59,078.5MW and equity-based generation capacity of 54,167.4MW. The power plants of the Company are located in 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China. The Company also has a wholly-owned power company in Singapore.
