Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 15) - Dongfeng Honda will begin a recall of its CR-V and Civic models in China next month, Xinhua reported today, citing an announcement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The recall will target 459,962 CR-Vs and Civics manufactured between July 2009 and August 2011.
AQSIQ's Defective Products Management Center has reportedly received several complaints from owners about the horns in their vehicles not working. In response to this feedback, the department organized expert inspection teams that confirmed that not being able to use the vehicle horn could pose a safety risk to the driver, passengers and pedestrians. AQSIQ has already forwarded the complaints to the manufacturers, requesting them to also begin technical analysis work. The manufacturers supplied AQSIQ with a resolution to the problem that will be implemented into the vehicles upon recall.
Dongfeng Honda will conduct free maintenance and repair of all recalled vehicles to ensure the problem does not reoccur.
