Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 22) - Jianghuai Automobile plans to sell 250,000 passenger automobiles this year, equivalent to year-on-year growth of 16 percent, xkb.com.cn reported Dai Maofang, manager of the manufacturer's passenger vehicle division, as stating. JAC sold a total of 215,304 passenger automobiles in 2011, placing it among China's most successful own brands.
This year JAC will be introducing updates to several models in its product line, including the Refine, Rein and Heyue vehicles. Among them, the new Heyue (pictured above) will boast 38 new improvements and be targeted towards an entirely new price bracket. The Refine, meanwhile, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, which JAC is looking to commemorate by gathering loyal owners together for a special event.
JAC has also gained a place in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's newest list on vehicles suggest for government use, with 33 of its models appearing on the listing. JAC models reportedly account for a quarter of all listed minivans.
JAC witnessed a lot of changes earlier this year, with Zuo Yan'an retiring from his post as company chairman in February. Around the same time, the manufacturer divided its sales network, with one part dedicated to passenger automobiles and the other to commercial ones.
