Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 24) - Renault China has officially replied to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine request to order a recall of its Mégane II compacts and Scénic II crossovers, auto.sina.com.cn reported today. In its reply, the manufacturer noted that it had also discovered the problems in the two models, and is currently conducting an inspection in accordance to national standards. Renault will announce a solution to the issues as soon as possible.

The Mégane II (pictured) suffers from a flaw with its airbags, while the Scénic II has a problem with its dashboard lighting up. The flaws may potentially affect other Renault models sold in China. Renault China has apologized for any inconveniences these issues may cause its owners, and states that it is taking the problems very seriously. Owners of affected vehicles can visit their local Renault-authorized dealer for free maintenance, while worried owners of other Renault vehicles can schedule a free inspection.

Renault China has also emphasized the important role Chinese consumers have played in paving the way for the brand's continued success in the country. The Laguna, Koleos, Latitude and Fluence, in addition to the aforementioned Mégane and Scénic, have all achieved strong sales results in China. Renault will continue to supply the Chinese market with superior products and services in the future, and welcomes the media's continued scrutiny.
