China Mobile Ltd CHL(sehk:0941) on March 30 held a ceremony in Hangzhou to initiate the TD-LTE experience.

It is said that users whose terminal devices are functioned with WiFi are able to enjoy 4G network experience free of charge on B1 fast-speed buses in Hangzhou.

General manager of China Mobile Zhejiang branch stated that according to the initial test result, the download speed of TD-LTE network can be as high as 80M and could reach 30M even on a moving bus, which is 10 times higher than the surfing speed on 3G network at present.

As a new-generation broadband mobile communication technology led by China, TD-LTE network has been confirmed by the International Telecommunications Union as one of the three major international 4G technological standards in recent days. In 2010, China Mobile initiated large-scale construction of TD-LTE technology pilots in such six cities as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xiamen.
