Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 15) - The Zotye Z300 will make its Chinese market debut later this month, Beijing News reported today. Testing work for the new compact, Zotye's first, has reportedly already been completed. According to CEO Xia Zhibing, the Z300 will play a strategic role in helping the manufacturer expand into the compact market.

The Z300 (pictured) measures 4.65 m long, 1.76 m wide and 1.49 m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.7 m. The Z300's chassis is based on one developed by British sports car manufacturer Lotus Cars. A Mitsubishi 1.5 L VVT engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission, powers the car. It boasts a maximum output of 83 kW and is able to make up to 147 Nm.
