An industry source revealed today that Tony Park, president of Shanghai-based online game developer and operator The9's (Nasdaq: NCTY) online gaming division, stopped appearing at company meetings some days ago. Park's microblog has not been updated for more than two months, suggesting that he may have left The9.
Hailing from South Korea, Park previously served as president of South Korean online gaming company JoyImpact's overseas business division. He joined The9 in 2008, where he oversaw the company's commercial department. He was named president of online gaming in 2010, following the departure of Chen Xiaowei.
As of press time, The9 had not responded to requests for comment.
