Arthur Wei, VP and general manager of brand communications for Chinese laptop, PC, and handset manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK), today revealed in an interview with Sohu IT that Lenovo's third-generation "LePhone," officially named the Lenovo S880, is due for release on June 16. The phone will come pre-installed with several Sohu applications, including Sohu's video and news clients. The S880 is a 9.9 mm-thick dual-SIM Android handset equipped with a 5-inch screen, an A9 1GHz processor, and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Lenovo first launched its LePhone handset series in 2010, with the second generation released in 2011. The third generation will be launched this month, and the fourth is due for release in August 2012.

Lenovo also recently launched a LePhone application designed especially for marathon runners, called the "Le Feng Pao" ("LePhone Run"). As they train, runners can use the application to count calories and mileage. The application also has a music player, and is offered for both Android and iOS.
