Hilton Worldwide announced the appointment of Marc de Beer as General Manager for Hilton Beijing Wangfujing - the chic and intimate lifestyle hotel on Wangfujing Street, one of Beijing’s most prestigious addresses.
With an international career spanning 20 years, de Beer has extensive hotel management experience in Europe, the United States, United Kingdom and the Middle East. Prior to taking on his new role at Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, he held the position of General Manager at the Conrad Brussels.
Commenting on the appointment, Timothy Soper, Vice President of Operations, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton Worldwide, said, “Since its opening in 2008, the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing has continually looked to deliver the renowned Hilton hospitality and superior service to its' guests. I am confident that with Marc de Beer’s outstanding track record in managing diverse hotel operations around the world, he is well positioned to build on the achievements to date, and continue to raise the hospitality bar across the Beijing market.”
Having worked with Hilton Worldwide for over seven years, de Beer was the Director of Operations at Jeddah Hilton and was responsible for the opening of Qasr Al Sharq, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2006 which became the first international managed property under Hilton’s top luxury brand. During his tenure, the hotel won numerous awards such as Best New Hotel of the Year in the Deepa Hotel Awards 2007.
In 2000, de Beer had his first stint in China as Food and Beverage Manager in Shanghai before moving on to become Operations Manager in Beijing.
