Chinese internet firm Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU) has announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Sony Pictures under which Sony Pictures will provide Sohu's online video site (tv.sohu.com) with the broadcast rights to 600 films over the next three years.

Among the genres covered by the agreement will be action films, family films, and dramas. Notable titles include "Men in Black III" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," and Spider-Man 4 will also go online at the start of next year. At present, Sohu offers a total of over 2,000 Hollywood blockbusters from its platform. The new partnership will allow Sohu users to watch movies on tablet PC's and handsets.
