China Mobile Communications, China Telecom and China Network Communications, procured TD-SCDMA infrastructure equipment worth a total of 7.2 billion yuan (US$969 million) during the fourth quarter of 2007, roughly the same amount the preceding quarter, according to China-based consulting company Analysys International.

China Mobile began setting up its TD-SCDMA infrastructure earlier than China Telecom and China Network, both of whom started to do so in the second quarter of 2007, Analysys indicated.

As of the end of December 2007, China-based ZTE was the largest supplier of such equipment accounting for 45.8% of the cumulative total procurement value, followed by China-based Datang Telecom Technology and TD Tech with 27.2% and 14.9%, respectively, Analysys pointed out. The other suppliers were China-based Guangzhou New Postcom Equipment, FiberHome Technologies and Potevio as well as Ericsson, Analysys noted.
