Chinese wireless value-added service (WVAS) provider Linktone Ltd. (Nasdaq: LTON) announced fourth quarter 2007 revenue of US$16 million, up 20 percent quarter-on-quarter and 14.3 percent year-on-year, after market close on Thursday. Net loss in the period was US$7 million, compared to a $2.8 million loss in the third quarter of 2006 and net income of $0.4 million in the year-ago period. For full-year 2007, Linktone's revenue was down 31 percent to $55.1 million. The company recorded a net loss of $16.4 million for the year, compared to net income of $6.8 million in 2006. During the fourth quarter, revenues from interactive voice response (IVR) services came in at $6.6 million, compared to $4.7 million in the third quarter of 2006. Short messaging service revenue was $4.5 million in the fourth quarter, up from $3.5 million in the third quarter. Linktone booked $1.3 million in advertising revenue, compared to $1.9 million in the third quarter.
