FRANCE Telecom SA reported yesterday that revenues barely increased in the third quarter as its main operations were largely unharmed by the financial crisis.
France's dominant telecommunications operator said revenue in the three months through September rose 0.3 percent to 13.6 billion euros (US$17 billion) from 13.5 billion euros a year earlier.
"Our business activities are well-positioned to face the global economic situation, despite the difficult environment in Spain and in some emerging countries," Chief Executive Didier Lombard said in a statement.
The telco said it "saw no impact on its operations from the slowdown in the economy" except in Spain and some African countries, and Lombard said the third-quarter results "are fully in line with our 2008 objectives."
